Planning Is key To Your Success:

I hope that this year has proven successful for you, and that you are already planning your success in 2013. If you are still trying to get to where you want to be and seem to be treading water then you might want to think about the strategies you are using.

If you haven’t mapped out your plan for 2013 then use any time you have spare over the holidays to write a plan for the next 12 months. You can follow the SMART system for planning the finer details, I wrote a post earlier in the year about working smart.

Having a plan written in black and white makes you accountable to achieve those aims and desired outcome. Stick it up near your computer so you see it every day, it can provide motivation and focus on getting the jobs done that are required to reach your goal.

I want to leave you with this thought as we approach 2013. If you fail to plan, then you plan to fail. Don’t let it happen to you!

This will be my last post of the year, so I wish you and your families and loved ones a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.

Internet Marketing Strategies SMART Goal Setting:

Your goal must be specific in both outcome and time. Define a what you want to achieve, why you want to achieve it, when you want to reach it and the resources you need to achieve your target. So in internet marketing terms your goal might be to earn an income of 10k per month in 18 months time and give up working for someone else. Or it might be something completely different, it doesn’t matter, this formula can be used to reach whatever your specific goal is.

You can break down your goal into smaller pieces that will take you closer to achieving your goal. Think about what you need to reach your 10k goal. That might be a list of 15,000 subscribers in 18 months. Then break this down into smaller chunks such as if your squeeze page converts at 50% then you need to drive 2000 visitors to that page to get 1000 subscribers. Set a time by which to achieve this, 90 days for example. The exhilaration of reaching your first subgoal will provide the impetus to keep on course on your way to reaching your final goal.

Reaching your goals must be achievable, otherwise you are setting yourself up for disappointment and  failure. Goals should be achievable and ones that you can control. This might require the need to acquire new skills, a change in mindset, as you learn these things you develop and new opportunities come to light that were previously unattainable or considered beyond reach. As you reach the top of each step of the ladder, it is time to move onto the next one.

Your targets must be realistic, setting goals that high can be a huge motivating factor. You need to be willing and able to work towards achieving those goals. So set targets that involve stretching yourself, avoid setting low goals that can have a demotivating effect. Your goals should be challenging, that’s how we grow, setting realistic goals that are challenging provide a real sense of achievement in your progress towards your specific goal.

It is important that your goal has a specific time frame in which to be fulfilled. You can also include intermediate points along the way when your sub-goals need to be reached. Committing to a target deadline makes it so much easier stay focused and adds a sense of urgency to hit that particular target.

In Internet marketing it can seem to be a massive chasm between your current position and the one that you are striving to reach. By using SMART goal setting as one of your Internet marketing strategies and consistently hitting your sub-goals along the way, the difference from one step to the next is smaller and provides confidence and motivation that your ultimate goal is attainable.

The secret of success in Internet marketing lie in implementing the very best strategies you can. There are many Internet marketing strategies that you can use, SMART goals is a simple yet effective method to base them on. As you put each step of your plan into action you will come closer to reaching your goals.
